How can the re-entry into gainful employment from care work be successful? In her ethnographic study, the author takes a look at the measures initiated by the Federal Ministry of Family Affairs and the Federal Employment Agency, which aim to support such re-entry processes through external counseling services. She shows which workers are called upon to re-enter the workforce and which are not and how re-entry processes are politically controlled.
