Beschreibung

Canada is receiving a sizable number of asylum seekers. Both public and private institutions are availing settlement services in order to facilitate the integration of asylum seekers in Canada. The available literature however, indicates that the public settlement services are inadequate to facilitate the successful integration of asylum seekers in Canada. This research has inadequately examined the contributions of not only of the public settlement services but also the settlement services provided by NGOs, Shelters inclusive. This book examines the shelter services available to asylum seekers for their integration into Montreal, the contribution of the Shelter services to the settlement of asylum seekers and the settlement experiences of asylum seekers in Montreal. The book is useful to policy makers and service providers since it informs and shades light about specific settlement services that significantly contribute to the successful settlement of asylum seekers.
