The primary purpose of this book is to demonstrate how faculty, staff, students, and community customers benefit from an online catalog versus the antiquated card catalog at Saint Paul's College. The card catalog is obsolete and no longer utilized for searching for information in today's global society. The automated card catalog provides customers with efficient and expedient for searching for subject, author or title information without spending hours shifting through files of cards or shelves of books to locate materials.

Carolyn Brown Lofton is a graduate of Saint Paul's College in Lawrenceville, Virginia. Her major was Organizational Management. She earned an M.Ed degree in Media Technology from Virginia State University. Currently, she is a Media Specialist in the Russell Memorial Library and an Adjunct Instructor in the Department of Business at Saint Paul's.
