Esophageal cancer is actually one of the worst prognosis tumors because the advanced stages of the disease at diagnosis. Due to the difficulty in diagnosis and severity of the disease, esophageal cancer represents a clinical challenge that requires a multidisciplinary approach, coordinating specialist research teams and optimizing knowledge and technology developments ranging from the primary health care to digestive and nuclear medicine departments.
