«[…] Kohlmayer’s books have much to offer today’s students and scholars, not least with respect to their accessible overview of literary and hermeneutic traditions and their detailed critique of skopos theory. And I have a lot of sympathy with Kohlmayer’s view that the traditional or ‘common-sense’ approach to literary translation that he advocates has fallen out of fashion rather than relevance.»
